4nt Barcelona: Effortless City Exploration, Tapas & Rooftop Views at Sunset 🤍

This Jet2CityBreak caught our attention for the kind of Barcelona break it offers. Four nights at the 4-star Catalonia Magdalenes, departing from Manchester on 14th March 2027 (other departures available - price may vary), with a stylish base right in the heart of the city and plenty of ways to make the most of a few days away.

What we like about this one is the balance. You’re close enough to step straight out and explore Barcelona’s architecture, tapas bars and neighbourhoods, but the hotel gives you somewhere a little more refined to come back to. There’s a rooftop pool and terrace with fantastic city views, alongside a spa for some downtime when your feet have had enough of sightseeing. It’s also clearly doing something right with guests, with a strong TripAdvisor reputation.

The location is a big win too. Plaça de Catalunya is around 500m away and Las Ramblas around 700m, putting plenty of Barcelona within easy reach. It’s the sort of base that lets you spend the day wandering, stop for tapas when the mood takes you, head up to the rooftop for a drink and watch the city go by. With comfortable average highs of around 17°C in March, there’s even the chance to make the most of the rooftop pool on the warmer days.

A couple of things worth knowing: this is a room-only stay, although there’s no shortage of restaurants and bars nearby. Airport transfers aren't included, so you'll need to make your own way into the city.

For a few days of Barcelona culture, great food and a hotel that adds a little something extra to the experience, we think this is a lovely city break. With its strong reputation, checked luggage and seat selection included, we think this is a very easy Barcelona break to get excited about.
